Chocolate chip cookie dough, start to finish in two and a half minutes. White sugar, brown sugar and a lot of butter creamed in the stand mixer — then vanilla and eggs, the dry mix a little at a time, and mini semi-sweet chips folded in last. No talking, just the mixer and the music.

Steak and pepper rice bowls, the whole cook. Rice goes on first. Then jalapeños, a shallot and a pile of mini sweet peppers come off one board. The steak gets sliced into strips and seasoned right in the bowl — avocado oil, salt, cayenne, black pepper, ground cumin and fresh lime juice — then it hits a hot stainless pan, the peppers go in on top, and everything simmers down in its own juices. A second hit of seasoning in the pan, then it all goes over rice.
No cups and no measuring spoons; the captions call out every seasoning as it goes on. Real speed and real kitchen sound — this cut only skips the waiting. One honest note from the cook: two limes was one too many. Use one.
Build-your-own beef taco bowls, start to finish. Jalapeño, garlic, mini sweet peppers, shallots and cherry tomatoes all come off one board. The beef browns in its own seasoning blend — salt, black pepper, garlic and onion powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne — then comes out so the vegetables can cook in the beef fat, and everything, fat included, goes back in.

Two minutes, once a month — that’s the whole habit. Oil on in an X, worked in, buffed to a sheen. This is the board we actually cut on every day, and this is everything it takes to keep it from drying out and cracking.
The rule of thumb: if the board looks pale or feels dry, it’s ready. Wash it, dry it fully, and use a food-safe board oil — never cooking oils, which go rancid in the wood.
This end-grain teak board went bone dry — pale, chalky, thirsty. Food-safe board oil brings the whole thing back: both faces, the edges, the handle grooves, buffed to a deep glow. No talking and no rush, just the real sounds of pour, spread, let it drink, buff.
Board care in one line: when the wood looks pale, wash it, dry it fully, flood it with oil, give it a few minutes to drink, then buff off whatever's left. End grain is thirstier than face grain — let it take what it wants.
Avocados, cherry tomatoes, shallot, serrano, fresh lime, salt. Chunky rather than smooth — folded by hand at the end instead of mashed, with no cups and no measuring spoons anywhere in it. This is the entire build, sped up to three minutes.
It genuinely only takes about ten minutes, which is why the real-time version runs ten minutes and not an hour.
Sausage, potatoes, carrots, sweet peppers, a jalapeño, onion, and garlic — all in one skillet, and the only thing you have to get right is the order things go in the pan. The sausage browns first so everything after it cooks in that fat. A splash of chicken stock goes in, the lid goes on, and it cooks down until the broth turns into a glaze.

Bulgogi without the thin-sliced ribeye and without the restaurant bill. Ground beef, a marinade of serranos, garlic, soy, honey and ginger — and one thing you're not expecting in it: fresh grapefruit juice. The beef browns and comes out so the vegetables fry in its fat, then everything goes back in and the sauce reduces down to a finish of cold butter.
Served over rice measured the way Josh's dad taught him: water to the first knuckle, no cup involved.
